Engaging clients is not just a question of your staff's attitude and your own bedside manner, though (but they sure help)!
You have to be, and stay, at the front of their mind. Not just once a year, but constantly. There are several ways to do just that:
- Maintain an updated website.
- Share messages, answer questions, and poll your clients on your clinic's Facebook page.
- Use Twitter to update clients on specials, or Tweet directly to a specific client when their pet is out of surgery, for example.
But these methods assume that your clients are coming to your website, or your Facebook page. And they might be, but going to them is much more effective:
- Use text/SMS messages and reminders (for appointments, or even to give heartworm preventative). Clients appreciate the speed and ease of text messages, and In-touch Mobile has a great system. There is a webinar on their homepage, definitely worth watching!
- Send a monthly electronic newsletter (one that is actually sent monthly).
Newsletters
You can read more about why experts recommend monthly newsletters. Simply put, there is no better way to consistently reach out and engage your clients than with a regular newsletter.
It can take time to consider topics, write the content, fiddle with the layout, but that's why I'm here - to take the pain and hassle out of your monthly newsletters!
I will handle your email list, completely separate from your practice management software. Why? Because your clients change email addresses more often than they tell you. And I am not your corporate competition - I'd rather not have your clients' names and street addresses!
Content creation? I'll handle that. Layout? I'll do that as well. Your customized practice newsletters going out at the same time every month, and you don't have to lift a finger...
"What do I have to do?" you ask? That's easy - sign up for a free trial, provide some information about your practice and your logo, and that's it! I process subscriptions through Paypal (the name of my LLC is actually Explosive Marketing, so don't be surprised on the Paypal page), and you do NOT need a Paypal account.
There are many other things you can provide, on a monthly basis, but those are all optional. The more involved you and your team are, the better the newsletter will speak to your clients. Snap a photo with a smartphone of your "Employee of the Month," or, better yet, your "Employee Pet of the Month." That's a great addition to your newsletter, and it takes only seconds!
Maybe a Case of the Month, with photos? That will require a little bit more of your time, yet it will add personality to your newsletter. Do you have an associate who wants their own column? Send it to me, and I'll add it. Like I said, simple. Check out the possibilities on the Customizing page for more suggestions.
My goal is simple and straightforward - educate your clients, to make them better owners, and encourage them to take advantage of what you offer, making your practice more successful. That's why there is no complicated plan, no additional fees, no matter how many "customizations" you want to add. This is your practice, it should be your newsletter...
A couple of weeks in advance, I will send you PDF preview copy, to make sure that everything in your newsletter fits your philosophy, beliefs, and protocols. If you don't like something, I'll remove it. It really is that simple. The PDF serves another purpose, though. Print as many as you want (it will always fit on one page, front and back) and give them to rescue groups, animal shelters, groomers, or anyone else that will distribute them for you. Want to thank them by putting a link in your email newsletter? All you have to do is ask...
What qualifies me to write newsletters for your veterinary practice? That's a good question! My name is Mike LoSasso, and I've been a licensed veterinarian for almost 19 years. I've owned a general practice, and I'm currently the chief of staff of a busy emergency hospital.
What are the fees? The first two months are a free trial. There is a setup fee of $199 (charged after the trial period is over). If you want to cancel the service during the trial period, you pay nothing! I'm taking all the risk for you! After the trial period is over, the monthly subscription rate is only $119/month!
For the next 20 12 subscribers, the monthly fee has been slashed to $79/month for the life of the subscription (that's a savings of $480, every year!). The setup fee of $199 will also be waived (save almost $700 the first year alone!)
Questions? Concerns? You should have some! If the answers don't jump out at you on the Q&A page, call me! My phone number is 214-537-5579, and I'm happy to answer your questions.
You don't have anything to lose! Start your free trial NOW!
